RALEIGH, NC (AP) -- Attorney General Roy Cooper is scheduled to hold a news conference detailing the latest statistics on meth lab busts.
Cooper's news conference is slated for Tuesday in Raleigh.
The attorney general will also provide an update on how North Carolina is using technology to stop illegal sales of the key ingredient needed to make meth. SBI agents are also set to present models of one pot meth labs, a new method for making the drug.
Meth is a potent stimulant that can be created from over-the-counter household products, often leaving behind a toxic mess.
A legislative committee in North Carolina voted unanimously last month for lawmakers to consider a law requiring a prescription for cold medicines containing pseudoephedrine, a key ingredient in making meth.
