Us white folks have a responsibility in this too. Throwing money at the problem and expecting government alone to solve those problems hasn't been working. Shutting ourselves in gated communities and walking around armed to the teeth isn't working either. We have to work with each other and find solutions to the lack of opportunities and the hopelessness that young people of all races are facing and driving some of them to commit horrendous crimes.
