So…. Who are the Catholics of Shallotte petitioning? The government? That’s like petitioning Jesus to stop the Easter Bunny from coloring eggs. What does one have to do with the other and more importantly what differences will it make? I think we can all agree that violence is bad… But did we need a petition to prove it?
Is a US sentator really going to look at some petition from a collection of folks from a church in the Metropolis of Shallotte and exclaim:
“Holly Hell! St. Brendan the Navigator Roman Catholic Church of Shallotte wants to curb gun violence… Get my secretary! I want to call in every favor and get some legislation rolling… Call my mistress and move my appointment!!! I have to curb gun violence!”
