Companies, including Wave Transit, have floated this trial balloon multiple times before, and it has failed every time. The liabilities alone will prevent any private company from stepping up to make this successful, regardless of how much they coordinate with Wave Transit. Not to mention the protests from local taxi companies who have to pay a premium to do business in downtown Wilmington. You'd have better luck busing public housing residents to Wrightsville Beach on the weekends - mark my words.
