I am a resident of OKI, I am opposed to folks having to pay to park at the beach, but let me assure you, most spots are NOT reserved for residents. Go to SE25th Place... of the 5 spots on the beach front, 1 is for disablled, 1 for residents and 3 for others plus across the street is another 6 or 7 spots and none reserved for residents. Then go to SE26th and none of the 6 or 7 spots are reserved for residents. I know many come from Wilmington and state one of the reasons is the free parking & good family beaches - where does town counsel think these folks eat & buy their beach supplies? If they also have to pay for parking they might as well stay closer to home for their beach fun and money spending.
