Moped or scooter on a 55mph road is a bad idea. If the moped swerved, then the truck driver should not be help responsible. Abby, if you look at the numbers, the moped riders are, by and large, convicted of multiple DUI's, which explains the swerving. You can bet this will require NC lawmakers to revisit the rules regulating scooters and mopeds which currently pay no taxes and have no recourse, training nor insurance.
I really hope these people come to their sense and realize that a 100lbs 50cc toy has no place on a highway. This and many other deaths are the only results you can expect! Keep these moped and scooter riding idiots of the highways!
