'Women of Hope' support cancer survivors

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- Elizabeth Barnes and Penny Millis are two women with a goal. The goal is simple: help women survive.

Through the 501(c)(3) charitable organization "Women of Hope" they and others are dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for the female cancer patient, their families and friends.

The nonprofit foundation offers educational opportunities, financial assistance, as well as various support services. Not to mention, fun community events too.

Soon they'll host the 2nd Annual East Coast Shag Classic. The event kicks off February 14, 2013 and runs through February 16, 2013 at Blockade Runner Resort.

Get all the details on how your attendance will help provide support for local female cancer patients and what to expand during the three-day party when you watch the full interview with Elizabeth Barnes and Penny Millis as they speak with Good Morning Carolina anchor Ashley Jacobs.
