Wilmington Police make drug bust

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- Late Thursday night the Wilmington Police Department Narcotics Enforcement Unit arrested four people and seized about 225 grams of "ice" a methamphetamine.

The operation started when an investigator learned of a suspect selling methamphetamine out of hotels in the area. Detectives located a suspect's car in the parking lot of a Holiday Inn Express. When the suspect left the hotel he was stopped for a traffic violation and arrested.

After searching the suspect's car, detectives found a significant quantity of methamphetamine and seized more than $2,000 as well as the 2011 Dodge Charger he was driving.

When conducting a followup at the hotel room, detectives found an additional quantity of methamphetamine the suspect had just delivered. All three occupants of the room were arrested.

Andy Joseph Clements was arrested and charged with trafficking in methamphetamine, maintaining a vehicle for use, storage, sale of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a Schedule II
controlled substance. He posted a $100,000 bond and was released from custody.

Ryan Scott Ball was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Ball also had a fugitive warrant on file. He is being held without bond.

Christine Katherine Cianco was charged with possession of methamphetamine. She also had an outstanding warrant for failure to appear on a charge of driving during revocation. She posted $25,000 bond and was released.

Leigh Ann Lockwood was charged with trafficking in a methamphetamine, she posted $25,000 bond and was released from custody.

The drugs have an estimated street value of $20,000 to 25,000.
