The renovations don't look to be driven by the NFL for the most part. They do recognize that BoA stadium is one of the older ones though.
Richardson is plainly thinking that he had McCrory by the short hairs in Charlotte and is playing his hand again - this time for some unnecessary renovations. Charlotte/Mecklenburg is kicking in but Tillis has apparently thrown cold water on the deal with the state funds.
No government, at any time, should do this with income or property taxes. State law does allow for specific revenue streams be used but the law only addresses cities and counties - it apparently does not address tax monies at the state level.
Thank goodness Tillis had a level head on this one. I had hoped Pat would have come out and said "in today's tough economic times asking all state residents to pay, even an insignificant amount - is a fool hearty use of scant state monies."
