SOUTHPORT, NC (WWAY) -- Folks in Southport may love "Safe Haven," but the latest big-screen adaptation of a Nicholas Sparks book has drawn the ire of "Rolling Stone" movie reviewer Peter Travers.
In a video review on the entertainment magazine's website, Travers rips apart "Safe Haven" and Hollywood for trying to cash in on Valentine's Day.
Travers calls the movie set in Southport and shot in and around the Brunswick County city last summer "a torture to sit through."
"This is so Hollywood-fake that you can't believe it!" Travers says.
