FIRST ON 3: Head-on collision shuts down Castle Hayne Road

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- The Wilmington Fire Department responded to a head-on collision earlier tonight on Castle Hayne Road and North Kerr Avenue.

The accident happened when a sedan collided with an SUV. Both drivers were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

According to New Hanover County Dispatch firefighters worked to extract the victims from their cars.
