For the DIRECTOR of ATHLETICS - ECU:
"The school announced his hiring Wednesday and says he agreed to a five-year contract worth $415,000 annually plus performance bonuses"
UNCW's losing baskeball coach:
"The new coach will make at least $400,000 in his first season. According to a copy of his five-year contract UNCW released, Peterson will earn a base salary of $200,000 his first season. That amount will increase $10,000 in each subsequent year. UNCW will also pay Peterson $100,000 a year for his weekly coach's show during the season."
So this next year Peterson will be making $420,000 OR $5,000 MORE than the director of the entire athletic department at ECU. Which by the way is transitioning into the Big East Division for football.
UNCW's outlook on financial matters leaves LOT to be desired. Its no wonder they are raising fees on NEW STUDENTS by 33% over 2 years to fund sports. Niether the alumni nor the Seahawks booster club are donating $ to help the program.
Someone at UNCW needs to look for a new job..
