Soldier from NC dies from non-combat injuries


WASHINGTON (AP) - The Department of Defense says a soldier from North Carolina has died from injuries suffered in a non-combat accident in Afghanistan.

Military officials said Thursday that 26-year-old Spc. David T. Proctor of Greensboro died Wednesday at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Md.

Proctor was wounded on March 3 in Kandahar province. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 7th Infantry Regiment, 1st Armor Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Stewart, Ga.
