I find it disconcerting that NHC spends as much time and treasure on Berger as they do. All of the extra time county employees spend accommodating Berger's various requests cost tax dollars. A thousand or more copies of personal documents, run off on NHC copiers, costs tax dollars.
NHC has already reined in Berger's profligate spending excesses on travel. It's probably past time to put into place procedures to lessen his (and probably others) excesses that are paid for with our tax dollars as well.
Just because we're apparently going to be stuck with Berger for the duration doesn't mean some damage control can't be put into place. It’s time for our county leaders to step up and lead. Hey, Berger's nuts; what's their excuse?
