If it wasn't for 'Forced Annexation', the city limits of Wilmington, would be no different then what they were 60 years ago. They would have stopped at Greenfield St., Forest Hills Dr. on Market, and S 17th St.
30 years ago, Pine Valley was taken in, and they were furious. Now they are a long, established, part of Wilmington. Just like Sunset Park was furious, when it was taken in, 55 years ago.
When urban areas, in NC, continue to grow, Forced Annexation is a necessary evil.
