Hurricanes 5 Canadiens 3

MONTREAL (AP) -- Rod Brind'Amour scored his second goal of the game -- and 400th of his career -- late in the second period to lift the Carolina Hurricanes to a 5-to-3 win over Montreal. The Canadiens have lost six in a row. Brind'Amour gave the Hurricanes a 2-to-1 lead with his 17th of the season early in the middle period. He reached 400 with his 18th goal which made it 3-to-2 with ten seconds left in the period. Chad Larose had a short-handed goal as Carolina scored three times in the middle period. Erik Cole and Eric Staal added goals in the third to help the Hurricanes to their fourth win in six games. Cam Ward made 43 saves between the pipes for Carolina. Copyright 2007 The Associated Press.
