Study not realistic

If the Chancellor directed the committee to consider actions to attain "national prominence" as the study report indicates, how do you recommend cutting a program (swim/dive) that has 12 conference titles in the past 12 years and recommend keeping a program (men's basketball) that has only 10 wins in each of its last two seasons? It seems clear that 12 conference titles in 12 years attains much more "national prominence" than a cellar dwelling basketball team. My opinion is the committee had the desired answer before the process started.
