The only way to get rid of them is to use Chicago rules. They use a knife, we use a gun, they send one of ours to the hospital, we send one of them to the morgue. Until we, the parents and law enforcement, get truly serious about these gangs, they will take over. It is not illegal to be a gang member, only to do crime as a gang member. If I had the budget, I could get 12 retired Army/Marines together with a support section and rid my county of gangs altogether. Problem is , my county only as one dedicated gang officer and it appears to be all they will pay for.
