Harris Teeter affected by recall of frozen berries linked to Hep A outbreak


WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- North Carolina-based Harris Teeter says its stores have been impacted by a recall of a frozen berry blend linked to an outbreak of Hepatitis.

The grocery store chain headquartered in Matthews says it has pulled from its stores Harris Teeter Organics Antioxidant Berry Blend supplied by Townsend Farms, Inc. as the Food and Drug Administration investigates an outbreak of Hepatitis A linked to the product.

Harris Teeter says the recall is for packages with the UPC 7203670463 and Code Dates T041613C and T041613E

The company has posted information in its stores and on its website about the voluntary recall and says it is is also calling customers who may have purchased the product. Harris Teeter asks that customers do not eat the product. Instead they should throw it out or return it to Harris Teeter for a full refund.
