BLADENBORO, NC (WWAY) -- Two Bladen County schools were under a lockdown briefly this morning after a suspicious person at one of the schools.

The school district says it started with a suspicious visitor at Bladenboro Middle School at about 8:50 a.m. Because its close to the middle school, Bladenboro Primary also went into lockdown.

A school spokeswoman said at no time did the person show or present a weapon while on the campus. At about 9:15 a.m. law enforcement arrested the person. There's no word yet what the person has been charged with.

All students and staff of Bladenboro Middle and Bladenboro Primary schools are safe and accounted for.
