Wilmington City Council passes budget

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY)-- Wilmington City Council voted unanimously to approve the 2013-2014 budget. The total budget is $141 million, including the $88 million General Fund.

The budget does not include an increase on property taxes, but does include a 2% pay increase for city employees and a 1.5% merit raise for eligible employees.

Council members also unanimously voted to authorize the Mayor to enter into an Incentive Agreement with New Hanover County Commissioners and Castle Branch, incorporated that gives the company $500,000 in incentives for its expansion.
