MAGGIE VALLEY, N.C. (AP) - State investigators are looking into the circumstances of an injury during a gunfighter shootout at the Ghost Town amusement park in western North Carolina.
The Asheville Citizen-Times reported (http://avlne.ws/13psMYU) that an actor was hurt in the staged shootout July 6.
The park uses guns loaded with blanks. Officials are investigating the injury to Robert Bradley, who plays "The Apache Kid" during the shootout show.
The state Labor Department says it received a complaint that the park did not have medical personnel on standby July 6. The complaint says those who helped Bradley could not wash the blood from their hands because the water was not working.
Labor Department spokesman Neal O'Brant says inspectors will interview witnesses, the victim and the park's owner.
