Area hoopers dunk the dirt

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- Some of the top high school basketball players in our area came by WWAY this afternoon for some help reaching a goal.

The Flight 22 basketball squad stopped by for a fundraising car wash.

The Wilmington-based team features players from all over the Carolinas and helps players showcase their talents as they attempt to get college scholarships.

"I tell kids all of the time it's good to get out here and sweat, and I'm sweating with them and I would never do anything I wouldn't do,” said Nathan Faulk, a Flight 22 coach. “I come from Columbus County and we work hard there. We roll up the sleeves and get after it and after we're done here we're going to practice at 8 o'clock."

Team members will use the money they raised today to enter the Big Shots tournament in Myrtle Beach this weekend, which is run by Full Court Press host Kevin Schneider.
