Reckless driver call leads police to man passed out in car with heroin

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- Wilmington Police say a call about a reckless driver led them to a man passed out in his car with heroin over the weekend.

Police say the call came in around 11:30 a.m. Saturday. They say officers found the car reported at a gas station at N. 3rd St. and Red Cross St. downtown.

Investigators say Joseph William Porter was passed out in the front seat. Officers say they also found two bindles of heroin on the front seat.

Porter is out of jail charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver heroin and possession of a controlled substance.
