Family of fire victim from Clemson remember woman who loved life

SIMPSONVILLE, S.C. (AP) -- When she was little, Emily Yelton would pretend to teach classes with her friends serving as her students. After she enrolled at Clemson University, Yelton changed her major to early education to pursue her dream of teaching kindergarten. Her dreams came to an end Sunday morning in a beach house at Ocean Isle Beach. Yelton died along with six University of South Carolina students in a beach house fire in North Carolina. Yelton's family says it wants the world to focus on how the the 19-year-old lived, about her excitement and fun-loving nature, and not on how she died. Kim Yelton says her daughter died at the top of her game, and was happier than she had ever been. Emily Yelton leaves behind a grieving family that includes a twin sister who was so close to her that they couldn't stand living across the hall from each other during their freshman year and moved in together this fall.
