Council to discuss food trucks, regional branding tonight

READ MORE:

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- City Council is holding a public hearing at tonight's meeting to decide the future of food trucks in Wilmington.

Back in July, the Planning Commission approved rules and regulations for food trucks that want to operate within the city. Before that food truck owners were required to apply for special use permits, but they could only apply every 45 days.

The new rules would allow owners to apply for annual permits that outline exactly where and when they can operate and for how long they can stay in one location.

To voice your opinion, you can attend the hearing tonight at City Hall. The council meeting starts at 6:30 p.m.

Other topics on tonights agenda include the rezoning of 302 acres of vacant land along South 17th St., endorsing a regional branding initiative and funding improvements to the intersection of Wrightsville Ave. and Greenville Ave.
