ROCKY POINT, NC (WWAY) -- After waiting nearly a month to get a package that had been misaddressed, a Rocky Point man finally got his mail today, one day after WWAY looked into the issue.
Wes Linton says the package was hand delivered at about 2:30 p.m. today by a US Postal Service representative from Fayetteville.
"I believe it was the postmaster in person!" Linton wrote in an e-mail to WWAY, "who was very polite, cordial and apologetic for the way it was handled."
Linton said the package was being passed through USPS mail centers on the automated system, and attempts to correct the address routing had been incomplete.
"Thank you for all of the effort extended on your part, the interview by Sarah (Murphy) and the WWAY staff," Linton wrote. "It is probable the package would still be following (Where's) Waldo without your efforts."
