I was working for Harris Teeter when Hurricanes Bertha and Fran came through. The one I worked at called in a couple of refrigeration trucks to store the perishables in. The one storing the meat got too cold and the meat got frozen. They could no longer sell it as fresh meat, so they ended up giving it to the employees. There was a lot of things I hated about that company, but they try to maintain the integrity of the food they sell. I always loved that they gave free ice and water to the public when the storms came through.
