They have migrated here from the western part of the country they stated showing up east of the Mississippi around twenty years ago and the states did nothing about it now they have been in the western part of the state for years and still nothing has been done until last year when they passed rules that say you can hunt them at night and year round. these prolific breeders will continue to expand in numbers and square miles of territory due to their innate ability to survive around humans and they will eat anything they can catch or find and will eat fruit ,plants, garbage,pets and each other if necessary not to mention
the indigenous wildlife of NC that are not adapted to compete with this predator.
