Man pleads guilty to girlfriend's synthetic drug death

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- A man has pleaded guilty in his girlfriend's 2012 overdose death from a synthetic drug in New Hanover County.

Jeremy Leutgens pleaded guilty today to involuntary manslaughter, according to District Attorney Ben David.

Stephanie Hobson, 25, died after using 25i at Tesla Park Apartments in July 2012. Leutgens told dispatchers he supplied Hobson with the drug.

Leutgens was sentenced to 17-30 months in prison with credit for time served since his arrest in August 2012.
