WILMINGTON, NC (STARNEWSONLINE.COM) -- The 2013-14 Chamber Music Wilmington (CMW) season should banish any conventional ideas you may harbor about small-ensemble classical music.
The season opener on Sunday at UNCW's Beckwith Recital Hall is a program titled "Einstein: Speaking of Mozart." In it, pianist and CMW artistic director Barbara McKenzie will team up with members of Duke University's Ciompi Quartet and others for a multimedia production complete with readings from books and letters by Albert Einstein and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
McKenzie admitted concern for the way the program would take shape as recently as two weeks ago. "It was this nebulous thing, Einstein and Mozart," McKenzie said. "I read lots about and by Einstein, and as many of Mozart's letters as I could find."
