UPDATE: Man shot in stomach uncooperative with investigators

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) –- Police are investigating after they say ShotSpotter led them to a man who was shot in the stomach from the front porch of a home Monday night.

They say just before 9 p.m., they got reports of shots fired in the 700 block of Castle Street. That's where they found a man with a gunshot wound.

Police say the victim, 20-year-old Timothy Waterman, told them he heard gunshots when he took a single round to his lower abdomen. Waterman told police he then ran inside the home.

They say Waterman was taken to New Hanover Regional Medical Center, but police say he was not cooperative with officers. Police say they have no information on Waterman's shooter.
