BOILING SPRING LAKES, NC (WWAY) -- Students have returned to class at South Brunswick High School after a small fire.

Firefighters say when they arrived, they saw black smoke coming from the building in Boiling Spring Lakes.

Brunswick County Emergency Management Director Anthony Marzano says the fire started with a fuel line in the boiler room. He said once they cut the fuel supply, the fire went out.

Marzano says students and staff were evacuated from the school to the football field for about 10 or 15 minutes as firefighters worked inside. He said everyone is fine, and that crews ventilated the building to get the smoke out.

Marzano says there is no lasting damage.
