New Hanover County poll workers keeping busy

Poll workers in New Hanover County have been keeping busy. Voters in Wilmington are heading to the polls to decide the City Council members, while in Wrighsville Beach they're selecting the next board of aldermen. In Carolina Beach voters will elect the next mayor and town council. The mayor's race there is made up of Alan Gilbert and Joel Macon. Vying for two spots on the town council are Pat Efird, Michael Kopitopolous, Lonnie Lashley and Dan Wilcox. In Wilmington there are four candidates competing for two spots on the City Council. Those candidates are Susan Clarke, Pat Delair, Ronald Sparks and Kristi Tomey. The only candidate to win outright during the main election was Laura Padgett. In Kure Beach, James Dugan and Barry Nelder are running for the two town council spots. Mayoral candidate Mac Montgomery is running unopposed.
