WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- New Hanover County libraries received a $75,000 grant from PNC Bank this morning. The funds will go to create a financial education program for pre-schoolers. The "Grow up Great Program" seeks to serve more than 3,500 children, families and teachers by teaching them financial habits. "We're hoping that it's going to be able to reach a number of the children here in New Hanover (county)," PNC's Paula Fryland said. "We think it's important and we cant think of anything better to invest in than young children." The programs are free to the public for children from birth to five years old, and will give parents advice on how to encourage saving at home.
