I think this convention center idea is so stupid. This city does not need an expensive glorified meeting place or glorified hotel. It'll cost us a fortune. What we really need is an amphitheatre so we don't have to travel to Raleigh or Charlotte or many other even smaller cities that have one. It would help bring in culture, music, all kinds of entertainment etc. as well as bring in tourists who would spend their money in our city, to our hotels, and they would keep coming back to see more shows. This would be a gift that keeps on giving. I say , to hell with the convention idea--mine is better!
