11 hurt in Yadkin County school bus crash

YADKINVILLE, NC (AP) -- Eleven people have been hurt in a school bus crash in Yadkin County.

Investigators say there were 20 students and a driver on the bus from Forbush Middle and Forbush High schools when the bus ran off a road and turned on its side around 7:20 a.m. Tuesday in Yadkinville.

Four of the injured students have been released from Yadkin Valley Community Hospital.

School superintendent Todd Martin says six other students and the bus driver were taken to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Martin said he did not know their condition but said the injuries were not life-threatening.

The North Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating.
