CHARLOTTE, NC (AP) -- A Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officer is in serious condition after being shot while serving a warrant to a fugitive in a South Carolina home. Police spokesman Robert Tufano said Tuesday that Shane Page is in serious but stable condition. Tufano says that Page is a member of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's Violent Criminal Apprehension Team. Page and other officers were serving a warrant to 31-year-old James Lewis at a home in Fort Mill, SC, just over the state line. Lewis was wanted for armed robbery. At the home, shooting broke out. Police say Lewis suffered minor injuries. Tufano says police are still investigating. (Copyright 2014 The Associated Press. All rights reserved.
