I was coming down NC 87 when all this was going on. The Sheriff had a checkpoint at Cougar Drive and 87, doing quick interviews with drivers. The deputy asked me if I had seen anything unusual. I asked him if he could be a little more specific and he finally said somebody walking along the road acting suspicious. I assume Tevin took off somewhere and they were looking for him. Why didn't the officer simply ask if I had seen a young black male walking or running down the road? Guess that would have been politically incorrect to say "black male".
