WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- Thalian Association presents 'Big River: The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn' later this month and through February 10. The production opens January 30, but rehearsals are really heating up now.
Two stars from the musical stopped by GMC to let viewers in on the emotions that come with playing such iconic roles. Paul Teal plays Huck and said taking on such a strong role has been exiting.
Twain's timeless classic is also a seven-time Tony Award-winning musical and considered by many a great way to celebrate Black History month. It is the story of a Huck Finn, who helps his friend Jim, a slave, reach freedom at the mouth of the Ohio River.
Khawon Porter plays Jim and said the role was heavy. Porter and Teal seem to be as great of friends off stage as they are on. Watch their full interview from GMC, then catch a glimpse of their rehearsal. After that, check out ticket prices and dates by visiting Thalian's website: http://thalian.org/
