Boat fire in Wilmington put out, no one hurt

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- Crews responded to a boat fire in Wilmington Sunday morning.

The Wilmington Fire Department says when they arrived to Airlie Road just after 9 a.m., heavy flames were coming from the back of the boat. Crews were able to knock out the fire quickly.

No one was on board at the time, and no nearby boats were damaged. Investigators say they believe this was an electrical fire.

Fire crews say the boat is not a total loss. Owners say they do not know how much it will cost to repair the damages, but they say they are looking forward to getting their boat fixed, and back out on the waters for fishing.
