Air traffic picks up at ILM

NEW HANVOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) -- Air traffic is getting back to normal at Wilmington International Airport.

Dozens of flights were canceled over the last couple of days but some travelers were able to get back on schedule Thursday.

Anthony Buchanan has been stranded in Wilmington since Monday. His flight to Texas was canceled twice.

"I'm just ready to go home," he said. "I have a family out there. My two kids are crying for me, 'When are you coming home to see us?' 'As soon as I get home.'"

Buchanan's new flight was scheduled to take off Thursday evening. He says he hopes the icy runways do not delay his trip home again.
