WILMINGTON -- Congressman Mike McIntyre paid a visit to local navy alumni Monday. He gave the keynote address at a Naval Academy Alumni Association luncheon. McIntyre says he is working to improve health care for local veterans and he supports new health clinics in the area. The congressman thanked the veterans for their dedicated service and courageous spirit. Navy alumni say McIntyre's support means a lot. Geoff Losee with the US Naval Academy Alumni Association said, "We are a band of brothers and it's important for us, particularly me of the younger generation, to be able to gather, hear what's going on in Washington, but also to say thank you." McIntyre also told the group about his continued effort in Congress to get funding for veterans.
