WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- Cape Fear Community College has been named one of the top 150 community colleges in the country. That's according to the Aspen Institute College Excellence Program. CFCC was selected from a pool of more than one-thousand community colleges. The school's president Dr. Ted Spring says this is an exciting time for the college. "We're so special, and we're being recognized, and we are thrilled," Spring said. "The work of our faculty and staff for years at the college has been outstanding, and to be recognized nationally for our efforts is just a wonderful experience for all of us." CFCC now competes for a $1 million prize. Winners will be announced next year.
