Cape Fear Wildlife Expo teaching kids with live animals

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- All weekend long, nature enthusiasts enjoyed dozens of wildlife exhibits at the Cape Fear Wildlife Expo.

The Wilmington Convention Center housed displays featuring everything from the great outdoors.

Hunting, fishing and boating supplies joined live animals and product demonstrations.

The event is meant to educate and raise awareness for natural resource conservation.

The expo reaches out to kids with interactive snake and wolf displays.

Blair Elementary 4th grader, Charlie Bishop said, "I got to hold snakes and look at wolves and saw how birds can fly and learned about them."

Charlie also said he liked getting to try out the animal calls.
