Group holds vigil remembering those killed by violent crime

READ MORE:
LELAND -- It's an annual vigil for those whose lives were cut short by violent crime. The local organization "Justice for Citizens" is holding their 12th annual candlelight memorial Friday night. We caught organizers setting up for the hundreds of people who are expected to be attending. The vigil is dedicated to the victims of domestic violence, homicide and deaths caused by drunken drivers. Justice for Citizens member Carolyn Howard lost her son after he was murdered in 2001. She says this organization keeps her going. Howard said, "It's a way for me to remember my son that was murdered, and to be with other victims and to have the support of everyone. It's just so much love that's given at this time." The candlelight vigil will begin at seven p.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church in Leland.
