JACKSONVILLE, NC (AP) -- State troopers say a woman distracted while arguing with a passenger drove off a road in Onslow County and into a creek with her 9-month-old baby in the car.

WITN in Greenville reports 23-year-old Brittany Veitch is charged with careless and reckless driving. The patrol said the accident happened just after 4 p.m. Wednesday.

The patrol said Veitch drove off the road as she was arguing with the passenger. Her 9-month-old baby boy was in a car seat and got out of the car unharmed.

No major injuries were reported.
