EUE/Screen Gems Studios reopens doors to public

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) –- Movie lovers and TV enthusiasts can now get a behind-the-scenes look at what goes into creating on screen magic.

This weekend EUE/ Screen Gems Studios reopened its doors to the public with tours of the 10 stage working lot.

“They will share stories and history,” said Pamela Stilwell, Director of Tours.

EUE/ Screen Gems Studios offered these tours in the past, but stopped in 2011 when the series “One Tree Hill” wrapped production.

Organizers say in the last two years the studio has hosted more than 350 productions, so they have decided to start the tours back up.

“Hollywood seems to be too endearing so I wanted to come here and see it,” said Lynn Chichoski, who is visiting from New York.

The tours last one hour as guests walk through the largest studio complex East of California.

"You get to see how they do it behind-the-scenes, and what it takes to put together a whole bunch of different shots to end up with a whole show,” said Lonnie Anderson.

Tours run Saturdays and Sundays weather permitting.

Tickets are $12 for adults and $5 for children.
