BUIES CREEK, NC (UNCW) -- Six UNCW pitchers combined for a two-hit shutout as the Seahawks swept the home-and-home series against Campbell with a 3-0 win on Tuesday at Perry Field.

The Seahawks move to 26-24 while the Camels dipped to 34-17. The shutout was the staff’s Colonial Athletic Association’s league-leading sixth of the season. UNCW won the first game of the series by an identical score of 3-0, also a two-hitter, back on April 8.

Freshman Cory Gantz (3-1) earned the win with 2.1 innings of hitless baseball. Kelly Secrest nailed down his fifth save of the season with a 1-2-3 ninth inning.

CU starter James Darcy (1-1) was saddled with the loss after allowing all three runs in the first two innings. Darcy struck out five in his 3.2 innings.

Luke Dunlap, who knocked in the first run of the game, was the only player with a multi-hit game between the two teams.

Up next: The Seahawks play their final Colonial Athletic Association series of the season when they open with a 3 p.m. start on May 15 in Boston, Mass., against Northeastern.

How it happened: In the first inning, consecutive walks to Casey Golden and Terence Connelly opened the game and Dunlap bounced a single through the leftside to score Golden from second base for the lead.

Inside the box score: UNCW went 0-10 with two-out while the Camels managed both their hits with two out … CU landed its leadoff hitter on base twice … UNCW relievers faced just one batter over the minimum in the final 6.2 innings.

Notes: The Seahawks improved to 77-37-1 all-time against Campbell and have won 20 of the last 22 games … With four hit batters, UNCW is now one shy of tying the single season record of 83 hit batters, set in 2006 … For Dunlap, tonight was his third multi-hit game over his last four outings … UNCW moved to two games above .500 for the first time this season … Secrest moved to within two games of tying Allen Flood for the UNCW all-time appearances lead (112) … The Seahawks have posted a 1.31 ERA in their last seven games.
