ILM running smoothly in face of holiday rush

WILMINGTON -- Wednesday is one of the busiest travel days of the year, and airports nationwide are going nonstop, including Wilmington International Airport. Many people at ILM said they arrived earlier than usual for their flights. Despite people's concerns of long lines, traffic and everything else that makes for a hectic travel day, there were either no lines or very short lines at both check-in counters and security. Most people said they would rather be safe than sorry and they didn't mind sitting around waiting for their flights. Traveler Denise Wright said, "All the articles in the newspaper, on the internet I've been reading, so it has raised some concerns on my part. So I'm crossing my fingers that we get there on time." Travelers at ILM seemed to be more concerned with their connecting flights in bigger, more crowded airports across the country.
